The Charity Lotteries, comprised of 600 dedicated employees, had long operated from multiple locations, prompting the initiative by the client to unite them under one roof. The employees’ desire to integrate greenery into the new office space was not only acknowledged but became a guiding principle for the design.

Guided by Benthem Crouwel Architects, D/DOCK and Yolanda Loudon from the Charity Lotteries developed the interiors. The result is a sustainable office building, characterised by transparency and accessibility, that enriched both the working landscape for employees as well as the surrounding business district of Amsterdam Zuidas. The space includes a public restaurant, an auditorium, and a TV studio.

The Charity’s commitment to sustainability was duly recognised when the building achieved the prestigious BREEAM rating of ‘Outstanding’, which highlighted the success of the Charity Lotteries’ endeavour to not only consolidate their workforce but to do so in a space that reflected their values and left a positive mark on the community and the environment.
