Instituut Marie is a place where integrative dentistry, functional medicine, and smart technologies come together to promote sustainable patient health.
Instituut Marie is more than a dental practice; it’s a healing environment that views oral health as part of the entire body system. Their services include personalised nutrition plans, breath and speech therapies, adaptive change management, and group classes in yoga, tai chi, and movement education. A medical spa further reinforces wellness, focusing on stress relief and body detoxification.
To bring this vision to life, we applied our circular design expertise to the institute’s planning and construction. By incorporating second-life materials, such as bathroom tiles sourced from an auction website, reclaimed flooring, and lighting salvaged from the former Hudson’s Bay department store in Haarlem, we created a space that reflects a commitment to health and sustainability. Every design choice was made with the goal of minimising waste.
