Primary school TOV in Waddinxveen asked Furnify & D/DOCK to design a learning landscape, a place which would be the basis for the ‘personalized learning’ method this school applies. The environment should be open and transparent, for the children, teachers and parents. We created a place to play, learn and discover, always with ‘people’ in our focus. The school is therefore developed from inside to outside, thus optimizing connections with the surroundings. The open and flexible spaces make effective use of daylight, and are applicable for various (future) educational methods.

In this project, circularity plays an important role. Furnify and HumanOffice created a unique sustainable landscape, which is a leading example for the kids, parents and the community engaged with the school.

As for every non-profit organization, it’s not easy to realize ideals and meet the requirements with minimum budgets, and to collaborate with all stakeholders. The TOV School therefore selected a specific group of partners which have the same intrinsic motivation to develop an environment for several generations. One that is sustainable and future proof.
