D/DOCK launches tech startup MEOW

Transforming hotels into a network of flexible workspaces

Due to Covid-19, most hotels are considering their business models for the years ahead.
However, this is often limited to small scale and individual initiatives.

D/DOCK is convinced that a true revolution in hotel industry can only be successful by close collaboration. Therefore, together with 10 launching hotels, D/DOCK announces the start of tech startup MEOW – My Extraordinary Workspace. MEOW is an app that enables professionals to book the most extraordinary hotels as their unique place to work.

The simplest comparison is easily made: AirBNB for workspace. Only now the hotels become the suppliers. Over the course of the last years, in many touristic cities, there has been a friction between locals and hotels. But in these days of social distancing, hotels and locals can help each other again. Hotels are searching for liveliness and alternative revenue, while locals are in the need for flexible and COVID-19 proof workspace.

MEOW launches in close collaboration with a selection of extraordinary hotels in Amsterdam: De L’Europe Amsterdam, Pestana Amsterdam Riverside, Lloyd Hotel, Hotel Mercier, Kimpton De Witt, Hotel Pontsteiger, Element Hotel, Hotel De Hallen en Hotel MAI.

Homeworking becomes hotelworking

MEOW-members can choose between a coworking spot in the shared space or a private hotel room. The app is primarily developed for on-demand workspaces, while reservations can be made through the website. Coworking spots will cost 15 euros for a day pass, including a coffee, fast wifi and power outlets. In addition, hotels can offer discounts on hotel facilities and amenities, such as bars, restaurants, meeting rooms, the gym or even the swimming pool. There is no monthly subscription.

App Store and Google Play

The platform has been developed before the sudden outbreak of COVID-19. D/DOCK adjusted the app to offer a safe work environment that complies with the social distancing and health regulations. In the coming weeks users and hotels can register via the website The app can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play as soon as hospitality environments are allowed to welcome day-guests again.

After the pilot in Amsterdam, D/DOCK is planning to roll out the app for other cities in The Netherlands and abroad.
