TOV Primary School in Waddinxveen asked us to design a space that supports their innovative approach to personalised education.
In collaboration with Human Office, we created an open, transparent environment that encourages play, learning, and exploration. The design takes a people-centric approach, developing the school from the inside out while strengthening its connection to the surrounding area. Flexible spaces are optimised to maximise natural daylight.
Rather than relying on traditional classrooms or a central square, the layout incorporates numerous smaller gathering spaces for various activities. This approach supports students’ preference for working in smaller groups with individual teacher guidance and ensures efficient use of the school throughout the day.
