Dr. Sarphatihuis is a nursing home designed by Abraham van der Hart in 1782. Care organisation Amsta commissioned us to revitalise the atrium and transform it into an inviting and flexible space for residents, employees, and visitors.

In collaboration with Makers of Sustainable Spaces, we developed an indoor garden on wheels capable of adopting over 30 configurations to accommodate a diverse range of activities.

MOSS meticulously curated the plant selection, and D/DOCK implemented an environmentally responsible approach to the design, using repurposed surplus materials from the wood industry to build the indoor garden.

The atrium redesign at Dr. Sarphatihuis exemplifies our commitment to creating functional, sustainable spaces that prioritise the wellbeing of users and the environment.
