Pinely is a privately owned and funded algorithmic trading firm. As such, it relies on the ideas, technology and expertise developed by its people. This strong sense of ownership and independence is deeply embedded in the company’s culture and formed an important starting point for the design of its new workplace.
As a young and fast-growing company, Pinely had previously operated from fully serviced office spaces. This project therefore presented the unique opportunity to help translate the company’s identity into a physical environment for the first time.
The design concept emerged directly from the company’s name. Pinely evokes the feeling of being surrounded by nature in a calm environment. The ambition was to create a serene workplace where acoustic comfort plays a central role, supporting different ways of working, meeting and connecting.
Employees can come together in the restaurant, a communal space that feels set in a park, gather around a board game, challenge each other in the gaming area, or retreat to dedicated focus stations when they need to concentrate.
The result is a workplace that feels peaceful and welcoming, while still offering moments of surprise.
Located in the Pulse building, adjacent to the A10, the office spans 3,000 square metres.
The design was developed in line with the building’s BREEAM and WELL certification.
