The Circle: A festival in a building
Team Rockstars IT will establish its brand-new Amsterdam hub at Weesperzijde 250 near Amstel Station, with D/DOCK responsible for the interior design and Spring Design & Build, a part of Spring Real Estate, acting as project manager.
Against all geometric expectations, the building is called The Circle: a playful reminder that this architectural icon with an eye-catching triangular shape is ultimately all about creating connection. Because at its heart, The Circle is centred around what is called “The Rockstars Method”: a way of working in which people are set first, bringing together professionalism, talent development and job happiness.
Located on the historic site of café De Omval, at the head of the Weespertrekvaart, the five-story building will become “a festival in a building,” blending workspaces, events, sports, music, art, and a hospitality venue with a spacious terrace overlooking the water. No matter where or when, the building will be buzzling with energy.
The entire area will undergo significant transformation in the coming years, with new developments being delivered and large-scale renovations already underway. Amsteloevers is set to become a new destination in Amsterdam where creativity, culture, and culinary experiences converge. Last week, the Municipality of Amsterdam also announced plans to establish its new “City Mega Office” in the area, which will house 20,000 employees.
The project marks a new chapter for Team Rockstars IT, whose people-first philosophy forms the foundation of the building’s vision. Together with D/DOCK as interior designer and Spring Design & Build as project manager, the ambition is to shape an environment where work, culture and hospitality naturally merge.
The interior concept translates this shared vision into a dynamic ecosystem designed to encourage interaction, movement and exchange between people and disciplines, while also creating space for focused work.
With construction underway, The Circle is taking shape as a new destination along Amsterdam’s waterfront.
