Amsterdam Marriott Hotel

Transformation of the ground floor and hotel bar

Client
Marriott

Location
Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Size
800 m2

Completion
2025

We transformed the ground floor of the iconic Amsterdam Marriott Hotel by breathing new life into Europe’s first-ever Marriott, as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.

The redesign introduces a sequence of interconnected spaces, each with its own character yet unified through the Great Room concept. From the warm sophistication of the Lobby, M Club and Library to the vibrant Bar TWLV and Dynamic Lounge, every zone feels like an extension of the guest room — intimate, welcoming, and residential in spirit.

Inspired by Amsterdam’s Brutalist architecture, layered landscape, and open character, the design features tactile materials, custom furniture, and curated works by more than ten local artists, all linked, by heritage or by choice, to Dutch culture and its creative scene.

“Our redesigned ground floor has truly transformed how guests and locals experience the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel. The residential warmth, thoughtful details and local artwork have given the space a sense of place that feels both authentically Amsterdam and globally welcoming.”
