Phoenix des Lumières, located in a former puddling and rolling mill in Dortmund, Germany, is an innovative digital art centre that brings some of the most famous artists in history to life through immersive exhibitions.
Following the success of Fabrique des Lumières in Amsterdam, Culturespaces once again entrusted our design and build team to transform the site’s former blast furnace into a state-of-the-art cultural hub.
We worked collaboratively with local architecture studio SHA to maximise the potential of the space, which features 13-metre-high walls and a surface area of 3,000 square metres.
The building’s unique architecture serves as a striking backdrop to showcase the works of renowned artists, and by utilising cutting-edge technology, Phoenix des Lumières presents art in a way that is both engaging and dynamic.
