We won the competition for the expansion and internal redesign of an existing school in Zaandam. The project’s objective was to combine two schools in the same building. For this reason, an addition in usable space needed. We proposed a partial covering of the semi-patio at the entrance with a glass volume and the realization of a new entrance block in the right wing of the complex.

The client’s ambition was also to rethink the interior design and distribution to give more flexibility and educational power to the school itself. That’s why we followed our new manual for Learning Communities in our design. Unfortunately, the project could not be realised due to a financial crisis in the market.
