Grand Villa Argentina in Dubrovnik (Croatia) asked us to design a renewed architectural and interior concept for this 5-star resort on the Adriatic Coast. The resort consists of a main building and five remote pavilions with restaurants, bars, wellness areas, seafront terrace areas and a total of 133 rooms. The location on a sea cliff made landscaping an integral part of the overall architecture. To improve the hospitality business model, the user experience and the quality of the design we made several proposals.
For starters, we increased the quality of the rooms and the routing. We shifted the design paradigm to that of the user with an inside out approach. Focusing on liveliness in public areas, we increased the number of visual connections. In order to blend the interior and exterior design we used greenery indoors and made semi-outside spaces. By lowering the lower seaside building, we increased the visual and physical connection between the buildings’ heritage and the landscape. And finally, we introduced a sophisticated style, a fresh mix between contemporary, art deco and Mediterranean.
