The exclusive Aspire Executive Lounge in Amsterdam Schiphol Airport has undergone a complete renovation. In collaboration with Swissport, D/DOCK transformed the 625-square-metre space, offering travellers a tranquil retreat before departure.
Guests are welcomed by a dark ceramic wall inspired by traditional basalt stone dikes, leading them into an enticing café and pastry corner, which smoothly transitions into a food buffet area and an adjacent bar station.
A semi-permeable wooden gallery filters light, framing picturesque vantage points and guiding guests through the lounge. The innovative design integrates hydration points, working booths, and intimate seating spaces.
Drawing inspiration from the Dutch botanical gardens, the Botanical Room features captivating artwork, gentle light glows, transparencies, and intriguing objects, creating a calming environment. Nevertheless, the focal point of the lounge is the Winter Garden, where a captivating chandelier with suspended glass spheres, reminiscent of a mesmerising cloud, are surrounded by vibrant swirls of greenery that set the scene.
Embracing a strong sustainable approach, repurposed materials and furnishings from the previous space have been ingeniously reused to craft a completely new and enriching experience.
