International software developer JetBrains asked us to design and build their Amsterdam-based office in the Huidekoper Building in Amsterdam. We created a concept that breaks away from the more traditional setup of an “office”. The new layout creates a free flow between many interconnected areas, without using corridors but instead through a series of ‘ensuite’ spaces. This work environment combines several typologies: closed private team rooms, hybrid collaborative spaces, concentration rooms, knowledge niches, breakout rooms and leisure facilities.
The JetBrains workspace has been designed with a broad palette of materials, inviting many styles and variations. Providing the correct tools to ensure efficiency rests at the core of the design. We implemented these products through playfulness and positive distraction for workers. We design for the human scale, and we believe that to get the best out of people, they need to be happy and experience fun. With that in mind, the design team meticulously designed every detail and accessory.
Thanks to the collaboration with our subsidiary Furnify circularity was paramount in implementing second-life furniture.
